Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse~ A Discovery of Self!

siddhartha-hermann-hesse This post on the book- Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse is going to be a post of what I personally came across while reading this book. So, here it goes 😊 Happy Reading !! Our own discovery to our inner self is a sweet love affair!! There is no set path that is uniformly applicable to all.  The characters Siddhartha, Govinda, Kamla, Vasudeva clearly depict this in the book. And, I think, that’s the beauty- our own discovery to inner self. Truth is just too intimate, one like Siddhartha has to experiment, keep on learning, keep on moving. The story depicts how Siddhartha lived his choices as a brahmin’s son, then a samana, a rich merchant, Kamala’s lover, ferryman’s student , a grieving father and ultimately a wise ferryman. However, in all the roles that Siddhartha played- he deep inside has only one intention- just to know the Truth :- As Saint Kabir Saheb Ji says- मैं बौरी मेरे राम भरतार ता कारण रचि करियों श्रृंगार || (The couplet means that

No wonder, women since ages, been degraded down as the property of patriarchy set up.  Patriarchy simply derives a lot of  pride in deciding the past, present and future of the daughters. Simply, by exercising control, what is she supposed to do, where she would marry, when and with whom, she is to procreate, whom she is going to spend her entire life with, and so on.  Well! unfortunately, women have just been degraded down to as a bodily element.
