Poetry 6:- Emptiness!! What are you searching for?

In a sea of thoughts,
Shooting moment after moment
Old memories flooding in
Fading & dying
Just like green leaves turning
Golden brown, withering, falling off
& dying.

Shallow breaths
Short & Quick steps
The search is endless
For, it knows not
The longing of this emptiness

Oh! Suddenly, in the dark hours of night
This chirrup, the calling of a bird
I look up at the sky
But in vain &
This emptiness prevails.

Hence, a bare footed walk,
A small, solitary & a drowsy walk
To my surprise,
There she is
Sitting over the roof
Of a brick wall,
She tries to fly,
But in vain,
I wonder- is she afraid?

Afraid of these dark hours
Or may be….
Afraid of being alone
In her journey back home
This deep longing in her eyes
Who knows, whom she is waiting for?
What secret is she hiding inside?

Keeping aside all these wonders,
We sit at a distant with each other
Sharing our fears, our emptiness
In the dark hours of silent night
And bathing in the light of full moon light

Her longing eyes turn into a shrill chirrup
After all, her wait is over
When her friend & companion comes by her side
Together they undertake
A journey of fearless flight
Leaving me with my emptiness behind.

And the search continues…
