A Machine: I Am!!
A machine it is
The stomach growls
asking - ‘It’s time to supply fuel’
And here, comes food
The body yawns
And it lies down and farts
Alarm bell rings
And work reminds me
of the deadline and yelling boss
Mundane work, with no bigger purpose
Still, i run and run in the race
Spending my morning and evening time
in traffic and rage.
Now, I am all exhausted
Hunger is no more
I fall on the bed and sleep
Eat, Work & Sleep
That is the pattern, i live
A machine I am
A false life is all I have
Huh!! Look here, look closely
Even a machine has so much sense of self
‘I’ is constantly sitting at the centre
And the controller of this life game
Afraid, insecure- ‘I’ am
Constantly running behind security
And collecting whatever this ‘I’ can
Building homes, hoarding money,
yearning for name and fame
Sometimes, its a wonder,
Is this what life all about?
Hold on, Hold on
A question is raised,
But a machine never questions
How did this happen?
The animal evolved from the jungle
Is now pondering and questioning,
Questioning the patterns and its fear
Insecurities and attachments that has
Deeper and deeper connections
Hmm…
Questions and curiosity
Is that what sages call the first step to one’s destiny?
Now, it clicks me
How curiosity been a fuel back in old days
That got lost while growing up in constant fear and chains.
Fear and insecurities-
‘I’- in a quite old companionship with them
‘I’- a king in bondage in their homes
The funny thing is
Fear and insecurities won’t go
It is ‘I’ that has to go!!
