Reading 22:- Mrityunjaya:- A lovely bond!!~ Karna and Ashvatthaman

 Ashvatthaman is Guru Drona’s son.

I admire the bond that Karna and Ashvatthaman shares with each other. A bond shared between them through their conversations full of wisdom.

Recently, on a random you tube video played, I heard that wisdom and love are two prized possessions one can have, and for a moment, it lighted up my heart, the reason being, I could feel the importance of this line. However, at the same time, I was disheartened to find myself far far away from these prized possessions because for some reason, my habits rule over me and I often become its slave.

But then, reading Karna and Ashvatthaman conversations is like someone both are always poured in nectar of wisdom. Ashvatthaman is the one who truly admires Karna alone for his merits, be with him just as we want our friends to be- not judging rather than always be with words of wisdom to let other shine in highest possible manner.

One would definitely savor these conversations on life, death, time, ignorance, Truth.

Some of their quotes-

“Lie is not something you get by begging for it. Life is an endless journey from a beginningless beginning to an endless end”.

His golden advice to Karna who is always perplexed by his lineage, by his identity that is always questioning him of his caste background proves Ashvatthaman a true well wisher of Karna.

“Don’t be misled by foolish ideas of noble background. Don’t jeopardise your present by speculations about your past. A person who once decides that life has no limits can never be dejected. He will never lose faith in himself. He will not fritter his time away in trivial pleasures. In the event that he does, then no matter how brave he is, no matter how aristocratic and mighty his lineage, he will inevitably work out his own doom.”

One definitely cherishes the secret bond b/w two .

Infact, their bond can be felt when towards the end, when Karna was hit by arrow, Ashvatthaman's immediate arrival to Karna and caressing him in his lap, revealing his flesh gem to Karna gets all the more special.

It's rare to see a friendship like Karna and Ashvatthaman in today's world.
